The book is about a story of a 15-year-old young boy named Charlie, who is an immature outsider suffered from his early life's tragedies, including the death of his aunt Helen and the suicide of his best friend Michael. He found difficulty to associate with friends and had a hard time dealing his mental illness. He was panic and afraid that he would be left alone. He has an older brother who is good at soccer, an older sister who kept fell in love with boys and a strong family who had always supported him during his toughest moment. He had made quite a lot of friends with Seniors, but he still could not have any friend in his own grade. Under the wings of his friends Patrick and Sam, Charlie had begun his new school year and a radical way of life. A life has involved in drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, puppy love, teenage sleepovers, homosexuality and early age pregnancy. Most of things that the book has talked about are highly controversial and a lot of teenagers today do not know how to face it. They are perplexed like a schooner in a raging sea and had no idea where they are heading for. The book provides a great solution of the issues and it is pleasure to see the growth of Charlie.
